LICHFIELD MACHINE KNITTING CLUB
March
Our March meeting was a demonstration by Lidia on
'Making use of Tensions Swatches and old garments'
Using old knitted garments or tension swatches and a sewing machine to make 'chenille' for making bags, collars and cuffs etc.

Layering pieces of material or knitted fabric Lidia Machined them together in diagonal lines approximately 1 cm apart
Then cutting between the lines using a 'Slash Cutter'.
Finally fluffing up the material so that it resembled Chenille.

Making fabric in this way Doreen Harvey had produced this Hat and Bag. The scarf is Hairpin Lace.
Another example of a bag produced by making 'Chenille'
