Brother Charting Devices - Knitmaster Knit Radar
Charting Devices - Knit Radar
This Month we learned how to use the Brother Charting device which is called Knit Radar on the Knitmaster
Charting devices enable the knitter to knit a garment to size without requiring a pattern, the chart tells the knitter how many stitches to cast on and when and how many stitches to cast off/on for the shape of garment chosen.
Whilst called different names, the principles and end result of the Brother Charting Device and Knit Radar on the Knitmaster are the same, but they are very different to use.
We therefore split into two groups and whilst Lidia demonstrated how to use the Charting Device on the Brother machines, Angela demonstrated the Knit Radar on the Knitmaster.
Who knew what those rulers were for and how important tensions swatches were - with the Charting device/Knit Radar you can make a garment to the correct size regardless of whether it is stocking stitch, fairisle or tuck stitch - by measuring your tension swatch correctly and choosing the correct ruler!
